Amália Jurado (Orcid: http://orcid.org/0000-0001-7095-5337) is Assistant Professor and PI at the Vectors and Gene Therapy Group at CNC, University of Coimbra. Her research interests regard lipid commitment in cell cancer malignancy and have been focused on the development of gene therapy-based strategies to fight glioblastoma (GB), targeting key-enzymes of lipid metabolism abnormally expressed in GB. The researcher is motivated to extend lipid-based therapeutic strategies to GB-secreted exosomes, inspired in recent works showing that sphingolipids play a central role in EV biogenesis and their biological activity, and to carry out a lipidomic approach to identify new biomarkers for GB.
